Joel De Luna is a charismatic and intense singer who gets under your skin. He’s got a wide register and sings everything from blues and rock to pop, bossa and salsa. He performs his music accompanied by a guitarist or with full band.
Joel began his singing career in bands such as Sax Appeal, X-Plode, Music for Living and now lately De Luna Band (BluesRock) and El Dominicano (Latin). He’s been on tour as the opening act for Alphaville, East 17, The Prodigy and Faithless amongst others.
A few years back Joel also began a solo career. He performs his own songs that touch your soul. They’re about human issues; the challenge to grow as a person, love and the difficulty to overcome one’s shortcomings. His next album will be ready during the spring 2010.
Joel won the New Artist of the Year Award in 1997, People’s Choice Award in 1999, and he was nominated to the Best Gospel vocalist in 2008.
Joel is born in Dominican Republic, but grew up in New York City. He’s now living in Sweden after many years of residing in Finland and Estonia.
